MEET
JAMES KEACH
Director
JAMES KEACH has worked over the years as an actor, writer, producer and
director. He directed the Warner Brothers feature film "The Stars
Fell On Henrietta" in association with Malpaso Productions with Clint
Eastwood producing. The critically acclaimed film stars Robert Duvall,
Aiden Quinn and Frances Fisher.
A graduate of Northwestern University and the Yale School of Drama, James
Keach received classical training as an actor at the New York Shakespeare
Festival under director Joseph Papp. He went on to perform on stage at
the Body Politic Theater in Chicago, and directed theater in Chicago,
New York and at the Los Angeles Mark Taper Forum. As an actor, Keach has
starred in over fifty feature films including Wildcats with Goldie
Hawn, Love Letters with Jamie Lee Curtis, Vacation,
The Experts, Moving Violations, Comes A Horseman
and The Razor's Edge with Bill Murray.
Also an award-winning director, Keach has directed multiple features including
critically acclaimed The Stars Fell On Henrietta starring Robert
Duvall, Aiden Quinn and Frances Fisher. Keach executive produced and co-wrote
the feature films The Long Riders (in which he also starred as
Jesse James) and Armed and Dangerous. He produced the feature
The Experts and co-wrote and directed the telefilm The Forgotten
which received a Cable Ace Award. He also received two Western Heritage
Awards for Best Director, for the series The Young Riders and produced
the television movie A Winner Never Quits: The Peter Gray Story,
which won the Humanitas Award for ABC. Keach also produced and directed
False Identity for RKO, which starred Stacy Keach, Jr. and Genevieve
Bujold.
He produced
and directed his wife, Jane Seymour, in the telefilms A Passion for
Justice: The Hazel Brannon Smith Story, Sunstroke, Praying
Mantis and The Absolute Truth through their production company,
Catfish Productions. Keach returned to acting in the feature film The
New Swiss Family Robinson starring opposite his wife. The Catfish
production of A Marriage of Convenience, directed by James Keach
and starring Jane Seymour, garnered the highest ratings of a CBS television
movie in the season it aired.
The arrival
of twin boys with wife Jane Seymour inspired a delightful series of children's
books entitled, This One and That One.The
successful series whimsically transpose their household into a family
of cats with fun, thoughtful stories wonderfully illustrated by Geoffrey
Planer.
