It's National Bedtime Story Month, and the former "Dr. Quinn Medicine Woman" wants you to know about it!

Jane Seymour - mother of four, stepmom of two and an author herself - is the national celebrity spokesperson for the month-long program, which features a series of celebrity reading events throughout the country and is sponsored by Snuggle.

Seymour co-hosted a kickoff celebrity pajama party with actress/model Kim Alexis on Wednesday, April 11th, 2001, at the Children's Museum of Manhattan. At the pajama party, she read one of her books, "Splat! The Tale of the Colorful Kitten."

The English native, who lives in Malibu, recently released "Two At a Time" her book about parenting twins. (Remember sons John and Kristopher from her Gerber commercial?)

Jane chatted with Tattle about National Bedtime Story Month (for the complete interview, visit the URL below).

Tattle: You're hosting a pajama party, so can you describe your jammies to us?

Seymour: I haven't decided which ones to wear yet - something very plain. But if I find something cuter, I'll wear them.

Tattle: So tell us about National Bedtime Story Month. What's that about?

Seymour: It's a whole month where we're encouraging parents to read with their kids. On the Web site Snuggletime.com we list 10 hints on how to go about that. How to read the book, how to get the kids interactive with you on the story, etc. The aim is to curb the illiteracy rampant in America.
