Plot Outline:

Following a heart, double-lung transplant, Claire Sylvia thought her road to recovery would be a fairly predictable one. Nothing could have prepared her for what lay ahead, however, as she began experiencing attitudes, habits and tastes that were foreign to her — attributes, it turned out, in keeping with those of the 18-year-old male whose heart and lungs she had received.

Plot Synopsis

An uplifting tale about a single mom who receives a heart transplant and inexplicably inherits new personality quirks and memories. What happens when you receive someone else's heart and wind up with the transplant donor's personality traits and memories too? See how one organ recipient and her young daughter deal with this strange phenomenon.

Jill Maddox (Jane Seymour) has been waiting for a very long time for a new heart to replace her ailing one. Her teenage daughter, Amanda (Maggie Lawson), who took over the caretaker role in their relationship years ago, longs for her mother to get a fresh start. But when Jill receives the heart of a free-spirited 22-year-old man, both women get more than they bargained for. After the transplant, the forty-something single mom suddenly yearns to drink beer and cruise on motorcycles, and her daughter must come to terms with her mother's newfound independence.

Jill is frustrated that she must rely on her teenage daughter, Amanda (Maggie Lawson), for all her needs. "She feels as if she's failing her daughter because of her illness," says Seymour. But when Jill finally undergoes surgery, her new lease on life comes with a few unexpected quirks. "She discovers a whole other life within her that perplexes her," says Seymour, who has had three life-threatening conditions and can completely relate to this character. "She's a woman on a mission [to understand what happened] and to have a real relationship with her daughter."

Up-and-coming starlet Maggie Lawson tackles the role of Amanda Maddox, a college student who has to care for her ailing mother, Jill (Jane Seymour), who suffers from a heart condition. "There is a part of Amanda that likes being in control and taking care of her mom," says Lawson. "That's all she knows." Amanda is relieved when her mom undergoes a heart transplant, but she's also troubled by the odd and juvenile behavior that Jill begins to exhibit. "Jill and Amanda have to figure out how to be mother and daughter the right way, and be friends," says Lawson.

Tune in to see how this mother-daughter duo copes with this eerie, inexplicable situation. This movie is based on a true story.
